I came across the following gem in the June 5th issue of the New Yorker in a lengthy article on the life of Oriana Fallaci where she's quoted as writing the following :
"I used to be truly fond of Federico Fellini. Since our tragic encounter, I'm a lot less fond. To be exact, I'm no longer fond of him. That is, I don't like him at all."
I love it. I think it's worthy of one of those online generator thingys where you can fill in the blank, select singular or plural and even gender (or lack thereof).
"I used to be truly fond of Mel Gibson. Since our tragic encounter, I'm a lot less fond. To be exact, I'm no longer fond of him. That is, I don't like him at all."
It should read "...his tragic encounter", but whatever.
"I used to be truly fond of wearing shorts. Since our tragic encounter, I'm a lot less fond. To be exact, I'm no longer fond of them. That is, I don't like them at all."
"I used to be truly fond of Cosmopolitans. Since our tragic encounter, I'm a lot less fond. To be exact, I'm no longer fond of them. That is, I don't like them at all."
What's your downward spiral?
Who knew? I think I audibly groaned when our boy fell to earth like he was nailed to the cross.
Otherwise, aside from the ever fabulous Kevin Spacey and Posey Parker, the casting was a little weak. No, that's not right. Casting Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane was weak. Kate is 23 and looks it. If she popped out wee Clark five years ago, she would have been 18 blah blah blah. Ew!
I think it was the Chinese display at Toronto's Festival of Fire a gazillion years ago. One rocket went up and came down as a lacy, green necklace with red flowers. I'd never seen anything like it and havent' since.
Course, D and I picked up the "Phantom Fright Night" assortment outside of Oakdale on Friday from a roadside stand. I'm not sure when or where we'll light them, but I think it's going to be fun.
I tried to lure Derek to see Superman last night but in my haste, I first typed "Wanna see Supermena tonight?" into my Treo. It got me thinking, what would Super Mena's powers be?
The ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound? No problem. Fly? Duh! Smite the back channel? You know it, girl.
What say you?

Cliff Johnson is publishing a new game soon. I think I prepaid a couple of years ago. The game release has been delayed on numerous occasions but the email that accompany these annoucements have been well worth the price I paid.
Before the advent of tweezers in my life, people said Brooke Shields. Some say Uma Thurman. I think Juliette Binoche.
